Had a great lobster roll and fries. Also tried the fish and chips. Both were classic and consistent. What kept me from a 5 star was that the lobster roll was $29. Granted, the bun was packed with lobster and served with a heap of shoestring fries, but it wasn't anything special. The location is great though for a summer lunch outside.
They serve cold lobster rolls. The fish and chips portion size is huge and is a little on the less salty taste.
I really enjoy their lobster roll, however I would love it more if they had the option of warm buttery lobster roll.
The lobster roll was really yummy! Seems like a large portion as it was falling out of the roll, but the roll was small so maybe that was the case! It was $29 for the roll with fries, ehich isnt a bad price. Otherwise it was a good roll, we had the clam plate too and it was okay, a little fishy and not seasoned or anything really. The fries were also just okay, kind of cold and soggy, had to season myself.
First time eating here after a recommendation from my daughter. This place is a little different... Like a food truck but in a fixed structure. Biggest draw was the lobster roll. Rave reviews from those who had it. Fish and chips and fried chicken sandwich were also very good. Fries were crisp and tasty. The onion rings were thinly sliced and a must buy.
Holy Smokes! We're in Western Mass from Florida visiting the five colleges. Have never been to the New England area and knew we had to have a real lobster roll while here. I can honestly say this was the first real true lobster roll I have eaten and it was NOT a disappointment.
HUGE pieces of lobster falling out of the bun. You are going to need a fork to eat some of this lobster meat out of the bun before you even THINK about picking it up and attempting to eat it as a sandwich.
Be sure to eat it over the container it is served in so the excess lobster doesn't land on the table. You don't want to waste it!
It was pouring the evening we came in, so we went into the Co-Op first. What a cool little place! Easy parking, and I was grateful for the covered parking. We carried our trays back inside the Co-Op so we could eat there.
Good fries, but hardly any room for them with this sandwich.
Stopped raining and the sun was out by the time we had finished. Kinda want my kid to go to college up here just so we have a reason to come back for this food.
Everytime I come here the food is on point. It's hot, fresh and savory. My favorite is the lobster roll with French fries on a butterd and grilled bun. I get. Better cuts of lobster here than I do in capecod!! I get whole claws with big meaty pieces. Come down to captain Jack's Roadside Shack. You won't be disappointed.
We really enjoy our visit to Captain Jack's Roadside Shack! The location even has EV charging station and the set up overall was very nice. We visited on a lovely early evening on a Friday night, and it was quite busy there. We lined up and placed an order, our food was ready promptly. My lobster roll was very generous in portion. Meanwhile, my husband's fish and chips was quite interesting. Overall, it was very enjoyable visit and the open picnic area was a delight!
